Favorite angkringan locations in Yogyakarta

In previous article, it has been told about the location of this type of food corner in general. It usually uses the empty space in a corner of streets, storefront, and the land which is not utilized. But where is the favorite angkringan locations in Yogyakarta ?

Stall concept that used to be called ting ting hik (because the merchant use a sound like that when calling customers) then was bequeathed to him in 1969. After that, other angkringans fluorished in Yogyakarta. Its location is in emplacement Tugu Train Station. The favorite beverage in this stall is Joss Coffee, a hot coffee added with a burning charcoal so that it hiss with the sound heard by Javanesse as joss. Angkringan comes from the Javanese word ngangkring. This implies sitting back cassually. There are angkringan merchants using their own capital, but some merchants are supplied with cart and food / beverage as a loan from skipper. A skipper in Cawas and surrounding areas may have 10 merchants, with large total revenues. But nowadays angkringan business sometimes is run by people from other regions, because this business has been widely spread in other major cities, such as Bandung, Semarang, several cities outside Java island in almost the entire country, even Jakarta.
